What is a Subdomain?
But before we proceed to the further part and learn the procedure to create and host a subdomain with Godaddy Linux Hosting. Let’s us read about what is a subdomain actually? Subdomain is a domain which is a part of your main domain in Godaddy Linux Hosting or your domain name. You can create as many subdomains you want with your main domain name.
I shall show you an example for this, we all know about Godaddy.Com, when you open their website you can see in your address bar that the website which is currently open in your web browser is a subdomain. Which is in.godaddy.com which is their subdomain for Indian users.
How to Add Subdomain in Godaddy Linux Hosting?
To create and add a subdomain in your Goaddy Linux hosting plan first of all you need to login into your Godaddy account by visiting their website and entering your username and password. You can use the link to their website provided here it will take you to their website in new tab of your web browser.
After you login into your account, click on your username, when you do so you will get a menu. From that menu click on Manage your Hosting. You can refer the image inserted below.
When you click on Manage your Hosting, all the hosting plans which you have purchased from them will be displayed to you on your screen. From there choose the hosting account and click on manage, you can refer the image inserted below.
As soon as you click on Manage you will be taken to cPanel of that hosting account within 5 to 10 seconds. Time depends on your internet connection speed. When your cPanel opens in front of you look for Domains section and from there click on Subdomains. Refer the image below for more detailed information of this step.
You will be now asked to enter the name by which you want a suddomain to be created in your account. In my case I am creating a subdomain for our website Akash.BloggingChamps.Com So I typed in akash and when you have named your subdomain click on Create.
