How to Change Main Domain in Godaddy Linux Hosting?

Web hosting is what we need to after registering domain name with Godaddy to build a website and maintain it’s online presence. We all need a good web host like Godaddy to maintain our websites, I use them for all of my blogs and I have not experienced any kind of issues with them. Other than one in this month (July 2016) I have experienced that my websites which are using their hosting services were down for more than 30 minutes for 2 days. I think you are using Godaddy’s Shared Linux hosting plan to host your websites and now you want to change main domain in Godaddy Linux hosting. How to Change Main Domain in Godaddy Linux Hosting?

It is very simple to change the main domain of the Linux hosting, first of all you need to login into your Godaddy account. Visit Godaddy’s website and login in into your account by entering your username and password. You can use the link which is provided here, it will take you directly to their website which will open in new tab of your web browser.

After you login into your account, click on your username which is showed at the upper right corner of your window. When you click on that you will get a menu, from that menu now click on Manage Your Hosting. You can refer the picture embedded below.

When you click on that you will be redirected to a new page in the same tab. In that page you will find all the hosting accounts which you own. From those select the Godaddy Linux Hosting plan whose main domain you are willing to change and click on Manage. Backup MySQL in Godaddy Hosting

When you click on manage you will be redirected to cPanel of that Linux Hosting account. In cPanel search for Preferences, in that section look for Change Name Domain. Refer the image below to find this option in your cPanel.

A new page will be opened in front of you where you will be asked to select the domain from your account in case you want to change the main domain to one of the domain which you have registered with Godaddy.

But if you want to use one of the domain as main domain in Godaddy linux hosting you can click on Enter a domain or subdomain and enter that and click on Change domain.
