How to Add a PDF Viewer in WordPress?

PDF is widely used format when it comes to documents and other files. Most of the application forms and related things come in PDF format. If you want to embed a PDF file in your post or page on your WordPress website then I will tell you how you can do it.

Even after you add a PDF viewer in WordPress you have to upload the PDF file to your WordPress website. If you upload the PDF file to your website and don’t install the plugin which can embed the file.

Only the link to the PDF file can be displayed.

So your visitor has to download the file or open the link in a new window on the web browser.

Sometimes we have to embed the file within our WordPress post or page. In this guide of mine, I will tell you how you can add a PDF viewer in WordPress website.

Steps to Add a PDF Viewer in WordPress Posts and Pages:

The first thing you have to do to add a PDF viewer in WordPress is to install the plugin. The plugin which you have to install is PDF Viewer, you can follow this link to check out the details about the plugin.

This plugin will help you to embed the PDF file in your WordPress post and pages by adding a simple short code.

Once you successfully install and activate this plugin on your website go to Dashboard → Settings → PDF Viewer.

You will be taken to the plugin settings page where you can change the height and the width of the PDF viewer. By default, the width is 600 px and height is 849 px.

If you want you can change the height and width by changing the values. In case you change the values make sure you click on Save Changes button which you can find at the bottom part of the settings page.

Now you are all set to embed the PDF file in your post and pages. You have to use the below mentioned short code wherever you want to show up the file.

[pdfviewer width="600px" height="849px" beta="true/false"]http://url.pdf[/pdfviewer]

You have to change http://url.pdf with the URL of the PDF file which you would like to embed in the post and pages of your website.
