How to Use CyberDuck FTP Client to Connect to Web Server?

With the help of FTP Clients we can connect to our Web servers which we are using for hosting our websites and blogs. FTP is an acronym for File Transfer Protocol, in this guide on Blogging Champs I will tell you how you can use CyberDuck FTP Client to connect to web server which you have purchased from any of the web hosting companies like Godaddy, InMotion Hosting, Hostgator etc. it maybe any hosting services they will give you FTP details which you can use to transfer your files to your server with the help of client software.

You need to install the client software on your local device I mean on your laptop or desktop computer. The software will ask you to enter your login details. The details which will be asked are Host Name, username, password and port of the server via which you are willing to connect to your server to transfer your files.

Now let us get started with this guide and check out how you can use CyberDuck FTP Client to Connect to web server. But before we start I would like to tell you what all you need to start with this client.

  • Latest CyberDuck FTP Client software installed on your laptop or desktop computer.
  • FTP access details. (FTP Host name, username, password and Port)

If you have not installed the client software on your computer yet then you can use this CyberDuck FTP Client link to download and install it on your computer.

When you are ready by installing the client software on your device with all the FTP account details. Open CyberDuck client software and click on Open Connection. You can refer the image embedded below.

Click on start connection

Now you will be asked to enter your FTP account details, choose the connection as FTP (File Transfer Protocol)

In the server field enter your host name, Choose the Port as 21. And at last enter your username and password.

Click on Connect

Finally click on Connect. You are done with it, you will be connected to your web server within 5 to 10 seconds.
