Do you have a website or blog which you have monetized with Google AdSense and seeing less number of pageviews in AdSense?
This happens with all of us we don’t see 100% accurate pageviews count in Google AdSense when compared to the pageviews counted by Google Analytics.
But here the real question is why Google AdSense shows less number of pageviews?
I have tried my best to answer this question in this article of mine. According to my research, these can be the reason why we see less number of pageviews counted in AdSense reports.
Many bloggers get panic when they realize that Google AdSense is counting less number of pageviews. And it is quite obvious.
Because most of the bloggers start a website or blog to make some money out of it. And at the movement when they are using Google AdSense as the primary platform to monetize their online content and see less number of pageviews they get panic about it.
There is no need to worry if you are facing the same issue. This is normal with all the bloggers who are using the Google AdSense to monetize their content.

Why Google AdSense Shows Less Number of Pageviews?
So now let us get to the point and check out why the number of pageviews which are counted in Google AdSense is less when compared to pageviews counted in analytics software.
#1 Wrong Implementation of Analytics Code
The first scenario is when you start using any of the web analytics software you get a code. And you have to insert that code into your website. In case you have not done this correctly you may see increase or decrease in the number of pageviews.
If this is the case just get the code once more from your web analytics and insert it once more into your website. This issue can be solved by doing so.
#2 The Ads are Just Not Loading Up
The 1st scenario which I have mentioned above is a general one. Which means it can be and it can not be the reason why Google AdSense shows less number of pageviews.
But this is the reason why 90% of the times the number of pageviews counted in Google AdSense is less.
Don’t get mislead by reading the heading “the ads are just not loading up”
So let me tell you what I mean in simple words.
You should keep one thing in mind and that is the pageviews are counted by Google AdSense only when the ad units are loaded.
There are a number of reasons why your ad units don’t get loaded. I have listed few of them below.
- Your visitor has installed Ad Blocker.
- Your visitor is using the web browser which does not load ads.
- Your visitor is using VPN. (virtual private network)
As you can see above the first reason is your visitor has installed Ad Blocker. We all know that if anyone has installed any kind of Ad Blocker software on their computer no ads will be loaded. And when the ads are not loaded those pageviews will not be counted by AdSense.
The third one is your visitor may be using the virtual private network to open your website. Many people do this to browse the web anonymously and most of the VPN’s don’t load ads.
So these are the reasons why Google AdSense shows less number of pageviews. I hope you are clear why this happens.
